Steel Slitting
Trustworthy precision to 72”
Industries from automotive and appliance to roofing and framing trust M.C. Steel for coil slitting services. The reason is quality, as seen in products with precise tolerances, excellent edge condition, tight winding, camber control and minimum scrap in all types of carbon steel.
- New 72” Red Bud slitting line
- Extensive gauge range from .010" to .250"
- Coil weights up to 60,000 lbs.
- In-line Herr-Voss leveler that allows for corrective leveling
- Computer-assisted shimless tooling provides exact set-ups
- Continuous gauge monitoring via isotope thickness gauge
- Automatic tracking slitter head prevents camber from being cut into the coil
In addition to slitting all types of carbon steel as well as HSLA steel, M.C. Steel can provide a number of other pre-production steel conditioning services. Leveling and cut-to-length is available in thicknesses from .020” to .140”, widths to 72”. Blanking saves production steps for stamping processes by providing blanks cut to the length, width and squareness required. Edge conditioning removes slitting burrs in roll stock, or creates a rounded edge for handling safety or functional requirements.
The one constant with all of M.C. Steel’s services is careful process management, under the control of an experienced team of steel industry professionals. Their top priority is attention to detail, which means stronger assurance of material quality and fewer production problems down the line.
